Drugs, a gun and a baby?

Drugs, a gun, and a friend’s baby–that’s what Chesapeake Police say was inside the car of 25-year-old Teresa Hunter before she led them on a chase through a South Norfolk neighborhood.

Hunter, already a convicted felon, is now facing a laundry list of charges, including child endangerment, eluding police, and possession with intent to distribute marijuana.

Thursday night, just before 9pm, officers say they spotted Hunter and another woman near Berkeley Avenue and Leonard Avenue, because her car had a light violation.

When police tried to pull them over, though, they say she didn’t stop.

Officers say that’s when they saw a gun and bags of marijuana being dumped out of the windows.

About a mile away, police cornered her car, at the intersection of Berkeley Avenue and Amick road.

That’s when they discovered a one-year-old child was in the back seat the entire time.
